Every once in a while, a piece from our Arents Collection of Tobacco really surprises us. Take, for example, this cigarette card from some time between 1908 and 1919, which has some astonishingly awesome advice on what to do the next time you find yourself with a bottle of white wine and no ice (which on a hot day like today could be a problem) …
“If no ice is available for cooling wine, a good method is to wrap the bottle in flannel and place it in a crock beneath the cold water tap. Allow the water to run over it, as shown in the picture, and in about ten minutes the wine will be thoroughly cool and ready for the table.”
We’re lookin’ for writers and illustrators - whatchu got?
